Storyline
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone is the first movie in the series that is based on the book by J.K. Rowling. The movie is about the story of an 11 year old called Harry Potter, who learns that he is actually a wizard, not an ordinary child, therefore he gets invited to attend the Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry learns that his parents were killed by an evil wizard called Voldemort. The movie takes the audience on a journey with Harry Potter, as a lot of the time during the movie it is shot in Harry's perspective. This gives the audience a foreign view of the magical world, and the magic that they encounter. Harry makes a lot of new friends at his new school, and they all appreciate who he is and the power that he has. Harry soon realizes that Hogwarts is not what it seems, and that it is far more dangerous than he has expected, and quickly learns that not all wizards are not to be trusted. Harry also learns that something very valuable and important is hidden in the school, and Voldemort is very eager to lay his hands on it.

After he realises that he is a wizard, he transforms into a powerful hero. Harry also has a scar that is marked on his forehead. shaped as a lightning. Harry is marked also by the confrontation between good and bad magic that caused the scar on his forehead. Good being Harry's parents and their sacrifice to save their son, and evil Voldemort. Harry is appreciated by all of his friends, especially Ron and Hermione, and a lot of people at his school envy his power and the skills that he has as a wizard.
Hermione Granger: Hermione Granger is known as the goody-two-shoes, as she is always the first one to explain things in class and to put up her hand, she also believes that she knows all the spells and she corrects people as well, thus causing people to not like her as much. Ron and Harry become good friends with her after she eventually learns to value friendship over perfection and obedience.
Ron Weasley: A shy, introverted boy who comes from a poor wizard family. Ron is Harry’s first friend at Hogwarts, and they become close. His loyalty and help are useful to Harry throughout their adventures. Ron’s mediocrity despite his wizard background reminds us that success at Hogwarts is based solely on talent and hard work, not on family connections. Ron has many good characteristics.
Hagrid: Hagrid is a giant who works as a groundskeeper at Hogwarts. He is a very kind man and is very generous all the time, especially to Harry, as he knows that he is a special wizard. Hagrid symbolizes the importance of generosity and human warmth in a world menaced by conniving villains.
Dumbledore: Dumbledore is the head of Hogwarts. He has a very humble and welcoming personality, and respects the rules of the school, but does not exaggerate on the importance. Dumbledore is very well-respected by everyone around him and the students at the school.
Voldemort: An evil wizard who killed Harry Potter's parents, and gave Harry the lightning scar on his forehead. Voldemort is determined to escape death by finding the philosopher's stone, and is trying to defeat Harry Potter.
